Mother's Day Flower Heart card

Hello.  It's time to make some Mother's Day cards.I watched a great YouTube video by Rina K Designs and I had to try her weathered wood background technique. I will link to the video below.

The stamped set used is from Unity Stamp Co and Graciellie Designs. It's a beautiful flower heart with a couple of great sentiments. I just had to fussy cut it so that background would show up.

I colored it very simply with one colored pencil and Gamsol. I wanted some white showing so this a really quick way to color it up. The centers were colored with a brownish yellow.

The background was made using this YouTube video "Aged Wood Background Technique" by Rina Krupsky. I don't have any Gina K. ink cubes but I did have some of the new Distress color Archival ink minis. I used Hickory Smoke for my background. I stamped the sentiment with Mermaid Lagoon Archival Ink.

I wanted card stock in a matching color to mount the sentiment on. So I swiped Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxides over a scrap piece of card stock and cut it to size. I popped up the flowers and sentiment with 1/16" foam tape that I buy in a giant roll from Amazon. I trimmed down the wood background 1/8" on the top and 1 side and mounted it to black card stock.

Isn't it a pretty card. The contrast of the rustic wood background and the flowers are a fun touch. The bow was the hardest part of this whole card.

Supplies used:
Love & Be Loved-flower heart
Distress colors Archival Ink from Ranger
Prismacolor pencils.
